Information about Yuriy Balla, ETCC Founder

Educational Tutoring and Consulting Center was founded in 2003 by Dr. Yuriy Balla, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, Professor.

Yuriy was born in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, formerly the Soviet Union. In 1976, he graduated from the Tbilisi State University with an Honor Diploma and a major specialty in Quantum Radiophysics.

From 1976 to 1993 he worked as a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Physics of the Georgian Academy of Sciences.

From 1993 to 1996 he worked as a Senior Lecturer at the High Military Engineering College of Communications in Stavropol, Russia. Yuriy taught and supervised students during practical and laboratorial studies. He is also the author of two textbooks on teaching methods using computer technologies.

In 1996, Yuriy immigrated to the United States and from 1996 to 2006, worked as a Senior Electrical Test Engineer and Programmer at Mini-Circuits, Division Scientific Components Corporation.

While working as an engineer, Yuriy helped his son and his son's friends attain academic achievements in high school. As a result of this activity, his son graduated from Stuyvesant High School with a 3.6 GPA, 800 on the Math SATI, 800 on the Math 2 SATII, and 800 on the Physics SATII. These scores helped his son get admitted into Carnegie Mellon University.

Resuming his career as a teacher, Yuriy opened his own school business and is successfully teaching students of various ages. He helps them to improve their knowledge in mathematics and physics, pass standardized tests with higher scores and strengthen their academic background.

Currently, Dr. Balla works as an Adjunct Professor at Math and Science Department of Berkeley College, New York, NY. He is teaching the following courses: College Algebra, Finite Mathematics, Quantitative Methods, Statistics.
